Designing a brand for YDAN’s Disability Empowerment Project.

The Disability Empowerment Project (DEP) is a YDAN project building the capacity of young people with disability (YPWD) to self-advocate. Through co-designed training solutions, providing the skills they require to establish greater autonomy over their lives.

We began the project with an extended discovery session with the YDAN Executive Committee, comprised of young people aged 12-25 from Western Australia, who identify as having a disability. Through this session, we established themes for the brand of ‘Empowerment’, ‘The person first’, ‘Removing barriers’, and ‘Connecting’.

The visual identity has been developed to allow the Project to grow into digital touchpoints, including a podcast. Illustrated styles can be applied to posters, and social media graphics.
